After Malda denial, will hold Nitin Gadkari’s rally in Dinajpur: BJP
Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kailash Vijayvargiya on Saturday said he would request President Pranab Mukherjee to direct both the West Bengal Government and the Centre to initiate action against “anti-national activities” in violence-hit Malda.

A team of BJP lawmakers on Monday was denied permission to visit violence-hit Kaliachak in Malda district, drawing a sharp attack from the party which accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of playing “vote bank” politics and said it will take the matter to the President. CPI(M) leader Nilotpal Basu told The Hindu that he saw it as a case of match-fixing: “The area has been a Congress stronghold and the Trinamool and the BJP are trying to precipitate a situation in which things will get communalised not just here, but spread to other parts of the State”.
The party will also complain to the President about the state government’s alleged shoddy handling of the incident at Red Road on January 3 where a speeding vehicle mowed down an Air Force corporal.

“Malda witnessed the worst form of vote bank politics which compromised the national security of India”, it added. “Malda ki malai unki Rajnitik dhulai Karegi (Malda incident will backfire on them)”. The reality is that it was burnt as all those leading the violent clashes are linked with fake currency and opium cultivation and they wanted to eliminate the police records. “Why was the police station burnt?” As the police in Bengal are not allowed to act against the minority community due to the TMC government’s politics of appeasement, it can be safely inferred that the target was to destroy the records rather than a fight between the locals and BSF.
