After missile tests, United Nations urges Iran act with restraint, ‘good sense’
The launch coincided with Mr Biden’s meeting with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.

It was an attempt to assure Israel, which vehemently opposed the nuclear deal that was signed in July and implemented in January.
US Vice President Joe Biden has said that the United States would take action against Iran if its recent long-range ballistic missile tests were carried out in defiance of an worldwide deal reached past year over Iran’s nuclear programme.
“This demonstrates once again why we need to address Iran’s destabilizing activities across the region, while vigorously enforcing the nuclear deal”, she continued. And I want to reiterate which I know people still doubt here.
The missile tests, described by Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards as a show of force in the face of United States pressure, come just weeks after the implementation of Iran’s historic nuclear deal with world powers. The fact that this agreement gave away important leverage on their missile program while never ultimately blocking Iran from obtaining an atomic bomb underscores how reckless and misguided the Clinton-Obama foreign policy really is.
“We will not be the ones who start a war, but we will not be taken by surprise, so we put our facilities somewhere that our enemies cannot destroy them so that we could continue long war”, Hajizadeh claimed.
One of the two had “Israel must be wiped off the Earth” printed in Hebrew on it, Iran’s Fars News Agency reported.
US State Department spokesman John Kirby said on Tuesday the missile launch did not constitute a breach of the JCPOA.
The Revolutionary Guards test-fired several ballistic missiles on Tuesday and Wednesday, state media reported.
On Wednesday, the IRGC fired Qadr-H and Qadr-F missiles, with a range of 1,700 km and 2,000 km respectively.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) successfully test-fired two more ballistic missiles on Wednesday as part of military drills to assess their capabilities.
IRGC has dozens of short and medium-range ballistic missiles, marking the largest stock in the Middle East, Reuters informed. In the time since the deal, however, hard-liners in Iran’s military have made several shows of strength.
The landmark nuclear deal, under which Iran accepted to significantly restrict its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief, does not include provisions against missile launches. “Hence, their response is the ballistic missiles”.
