After month-long United States vacation, Rajinikanth returns to India
As the box office collections of Kabali continue to be debated, the film’s star Rajinikanth returned to Chennai from US on Sunday, welcomed by cheering fans who crowded the airport for a glimpse of the 65-year-old actor.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film Kabali, which is receiving enormous response from audiences across India, has minted Rs 11. Within two days of its release, talks of a possible Kabali sequel have already cropped up.
The film has also done well globally, with major returns coming from US, Canada and South East.
The movie, which had reportedly earned Rs 200 crore from its pre-release business, is also on a winning spree in North America.
The film is still behind PK, securing the second highest figure eanred in USA/Canada with Rs 23.6 crore. Fans sang, danced, let off fireworks and conducted the milk abhishekam that has become a tradition for Rajini movies. The film has collected over $4.25 million in the four days. The three-day collection for Far East comes to $3.50 million.
The Gulf collection for ‘Kabali’ is over $2.25 million.
The film has also broken the lifetime records of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale’. Kabali has become the second highest grossing south Indian film at the U.S. box office.

Released in almost 5000 screens worldwide, the film narrates the tale of a gangster’s shot at redemption and how he fights for equal pay rights for Tamils in Malaysia. However, the Hindi speaking metropolitan cities are still lacking behind in making a mark.
