After Rahul, Kejriwal visits dalit victims in Una
Referring to Una Dalit incident in Gujarat, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Thursday said the Modi government is least concerned about Dalits or poor people, and because of that, the public are saying that Modi has become arrogant. “Moreover, the state government has suspended four police personnel, including an inspector, and also initiated disciplinary action for negligence of duty”, Singh said amid repeated protests from opposition members, including Congress floor leader Mallikarjun Kharge and Bhagwant Mann of the Aam Aadmi Party.

A video of the four Dalit men, believed to be tannery workers, being stripped and beaten with sticks allegedly by the members of a Hindu hardline group last week in Gujarat’s Una town has gone viral and sparked massive protests by Dalit groups.
Congress leader Renuka Chaudary gave her clarification and said that Rahul Gandhi was just resting his eyes.
To a question over attack on Dalits by vigilantes for skinning a dead cow in Gujarat, he said these sort of incidents should not happen.
As many as 17 Dalits across the state attempted suicide to protest against the incident, of whom, one has died.
Conversely, these two recent developments also threaten to damage the BJP in a large way in both these states. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also expected to visit the Dalits on Friday.
Condemning the attacks, he said Gujarat Police acted swiftly and nine people have been arrested so far. They were only taking off the skin of a dead cow.
Rajnath Singh was speaking on the very important issue of Gujarat Dalit assault, there he was, the beloved Vice-president of Congress Party comfortably dozing off.
He would urge the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to direct the State government to shut down such vigilante groups, Mr. Thakker added.
Indeed, the Thakurs of eastern Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of the volatile Yogi Adityanath are already restless that the latter has not been named as the party’s chief ministerial candidate.
India’s Parliament was in an uproar on Wednesday over the attacks, with MPs from the opposition parties shouting slogans while accusing Mr Modi’s government and his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of failing to protect the Dalits.
As soon as the house met, opposition members from various parties, including the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Trinamool Congress, and the Congress raised the issue and said they had submitted notices for a debate.
