A leopard attacks a man at a school in Bengaluru. A leopard on Monday terrorised a private Bengaluru school located in a posh colony Varthur. The leopard was seen roaming freely in the school premises.

Of the four, Gubbi is believed to have sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Whitefield. Deepika, deputy conservator of forests (Bengaluru Urban), said the operation was a tough one, given the crowds that had gathered.

It was clearly visible in the footage that it had grievously injured one person in the swimming pool, before it quietly slipped into the changing room where it got trapped as the door of the changing room was bolted from outside before it was finally successfully tranquilised. It will be kept at the BBP rescue centre.

Roshan D’souza, principal, Vibgyor High, said in a statement that the situation had been brought under control.

It’s very hard to say where the leopard has come from, as it is an open area.

An investigation is on at the school by the Forest Department and police. The school management has also sent out messages to anxious parents reassuring them about the situation.
