On Monday several news reports claimed that Aleem Dar who is now officiating in the India-South Africa cricket series that is being held in the country was threatened by the Sena to leave the country.

Talks between BCCI president Shashank Manohar and Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahryar Khan were suspended after Shiv Sena rogues barged into the BCCI office.

Pakistan has hosted just one test playing country -Zimbabwe in May this year – since gunmen attacked the Sri Lanka team bus at Lahore in 2009. “We are looking into it. Those detained will be booked as per law”, said a police officer.

A meeting between Pakistan and India’s cricket boards officials was also cancelled following the incident.

Shiv Sena blames Pakistan for militant attacks in India and is opposed to any engagement with it.

Earlier in the day, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur had said that Dar’s presence will not be affected by any threat from any group.

“There was a possibility of a protest in Saurashtra too where more than 50000 spectators attended”.

“Pakistan and India cricket authorities must work it out, otherwise I fear the Pakistan players could also refuse to tour India for the upcoming World T20 Cup, citing security concerns”, Abbas was quoted by Indian media as saying.
