The police departments in both cities said Thursday that their investigations were closed, but Dallas police said Friday that it was reopening its investigation after receiving a complaint of a domestic violence assault.

A Tarrant County judge grants Crowley the restraining order, ruling Manziel can not see Crowley for two years, and that he must stay 500 feet from her home and workplace as well as pay $12,000 in legal fees.

Obviously it doesn’t take much if someone tells the police I was abused and they see some physical injuries, which they have in this case, then, yes, they will make an arrest. Dallas police have been roundly criticized in media outlets for their handling of the incident – the second such incident (after one in Ohio) involving a female companion in a span of four months.

He didn’t live up to expectations on the field, and his behavior off it has embarrassed the team. Hopefully, some time away from football will help Manziel mature, but right now, football is not helping him and he is not helping the game of football.
