Branislav Ivanovic’s agent has suggested that he is likely to sign a new contract with Chelsea, as per the Daily Express. After suffering a hamstring injury during October’s global break, the defender has missed Chelsea’s last seven games but is likely to be back in contention for the visit of Norwich City on 21 November.

However, his position has come into question this season as Chelsea have struggled to fire in the Premier League with one of the worst defensive records, conceding 23 league goals in 12 matches.
Numerous poor performances have left Jose Mourinho with a selection headache, but Ivanovic has been one of the best defenders in England in recent years.
Previously it was thought that Ivanovic will move on at the end of his contract in June and the likes of Inter Milan are interested.
The 31-year-old is supposedly tempted to sign a deal with Inter, while his agent has hinted his client’s future is up in the air.
“Most probably he will renew his deal with Chelsea”, he told InterLive.it.

“All that I have to say on the rumours regarding Inter is that in football, anything is possible”. If he has to leave the club it will be in the summer.
