Aguero back but no Silva lining

Former Liverpool player Steve Nicol has stated that Raheem Sterling deserves abuse from Liverpool fans when Manchester City play the Reds on Saturday evening.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Klopp confirmed Sturridge’s fitness as ‘not 100 per cent, ‘ but continued to explain that ‘as a striker sometimes five minutes [of training] are enough, so we have to see’.

A win today, Saturday, will give Manchester City 29 points and will likely keep them on top of the table.

“I don’t care about this”.

Whereas in more recent seasons, Samir Nasri and David Silva have occupied the wide positions as players who like to drift in centrally, Sterling and Jesus Navas on the other flank can go down the outside with blistering pace and stretch defences, as they did in their win over Chelsea earlier in the campaign. We will be prepared. “All the rest was OK, it was not flawless, but we can make big steps in the next few weeks”.

Liverpool have just one league victory under their new manager, Jurgen Klopp, and have struggled to notch up the goals this season with much of that due to the injuries sustained by their strike force.

“It’s always special, not only for Raheem, to play against a team (where) they spent a lot of years, for James Milner the same, that is part of the career of the player and they are now defending another shirt”, Pellegrini said.

“They are high quality but the best news is it is football so we have a chance – I don’t need more at this moment”.

But they lost 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace in their last league game before the worldwide break and go into the weekend seven points off the Champions League places in 10th place.

Jurgen Klopp wants to transform Liverpool into a club nobody wants to leave, but admitted work must be done to see his dream realized. “I know about the business of course”, Klopp said.

“Sterling is a brilliant player, everybody knows this”. I have to think about it. “I saw the way Dortmund played and Liverpool play the same style”. He’s a good lad. “Good player, good boy, so (let’s be) friendly, shake hands, then it’s football”.

Klopp’s reputation and record working with attacking players in particular is what made Ward say what he did about Sterling and a missed opportunity with the German.

Unsurprisingly, he declined – in the nicest possible way.

The Chilean will be delighted to welcome his star striker back into the Manchester City starting XI, particularly with second-choice Wilfried Bony being ruled out of the fixture. I’m not here at Liverpool because we can not buy expensive players!
