Aguero nets 5 goals as Man City beats Newcastle 6-1

All five of his goals came in a 20-minute period, and the Chilean manager is adamant that the 27-year-old deserves to be held in similar esteem as the Primera Liga titans. Aguero scored these goals between the 42nd and 62nd minutes, making this show of athleticism the fastest five-goals scored in Premier League history.

Aguero played down his achievement in joining the five-goal club, saying: “I’ve just realised here in the dressing room that I equalled this record, but the most important thing is that we won this game and got the three points”.

– Sergio Kun Aguero (@aguerosergiokun) October 3, 2015 IMAGINE AGUERO AND LEWANDOWSKI UP FRONT TOGETHER?! That’s typically what happens when you have money, and when you have money you like to spend it. That’s why this past summer Manchester City spent £49 million on Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling and £55 million on Wolfsburg’s Kevin de Bruyne. A right-wing cross from substitute Jesus Navas found the Belgian on the corner of the six-yard box and a slightly mis-hit volley gave Krul no chance in the Newcastle goal.

And who was taking the lead from a management standpoint during that second half?

It was something of a surprise when City manager Manuel Pellegrini chose to take him off, soon after he timed his far-post run to perfection to slide home De Bruyne’s cross for his fifth goal and City’s sixth.

The instigator was Silva, spinning just inside the Newcastle penalty area before dropping in a cross just behind the defence for Fernandinho to set up Aguero, who pulled City level with a neat header.

De Bruyne created the opening with a low cross from the left flank and Aguero slid the ball home.

“If the club wants to sack me, they have to sack me, because I’m not running away from my responsibility, my team”, Mourinho told Sky Sports television. He was not extremely busy, but his solid first-half performance was crucial.

Steve McClaren has declared that Newcastle United’s season kicks off in two weeks time.

The Citizens reached top of the league having surrendered the pinnacle to Manchester United last week, following back to back defeats in the league.

Facetious as the point may be, Aguero and injuries are never far from top of the list of Pellegrini’s personnel concerns, despite the embarrassment of riches he possesses in his squad.

Without a win after eight games, Newcastle sunk to the bottom of the standings.

That was followed by defeat at Porto in the Champions League and the Portuguese reacted by making four changes. “What’s happened in the first eight games will go a long way to how the players and everyone within the club reacts”.

Chelsea, the defending champion, appeared to be on its way when Willian scored in the 10th minute.
