Attorneys representing the family of Ahmed “clock kid” Mohamed sent a letter to Irving, Texas, officials demanding $15 million in compensation for “damages” as well as written apologies from the city’s mayor and police chief.
They also want apologies from the school district, as well as Police Chief Larry Boyd, saying Mohamed “never meant to threaten anyone, and that his detention, interrogation, and arrest were wrongful and were made at a point in time when there was no reasonable suspicion to believe that Ahmed had committed a crime or was about to commit any crime”. He was allegedly targeted by officials,”because of his race, national origin, and religion”.

“If the family grants us written permission to release the information, we would be happy to provide additional facts to the media”, school district spokeswoman Lesley Weaver told reporters shortly after Obama invited the teenager to the White House September 16, WND reported.
Roughly an hour later, the mayor confirmed that the city had received the letter from the Mohamed family’s attorneys. Officials have 60 days to “comply” with the demands or face “civil action addressing the causes of action and events” related to the infamous clock incident.
