Ahmed Mohamed Talks Clocks, Doing Backwards ‘Nae, Nae’ On ‘Nightly Show’

Last night, the teen inventor was a special guest on The Nightly Show, where he admitted to Larry Wilmore that getting arrested was “kind of cool”, while wearing the same NASA shirt he was handcuffed in.

Richard Dawkins has said Islamophobia is a “non-word” while defending his comments that a Muslim teenager, who was arrested after his clock was mistaken for a bomb, was a “fraud”.

“There was no creative act in that at all, he took it to school, as an invention, and then a teacher was afraid it might be a bomb“. Wilmore cracked. “It looked like a pretty complicated explosive device”.

Mohamed laughed and said it took only 10 or 20 minutes.

“It was something really simple to me”, the 14-year-old Texas boy explained.

Second, I’d like to know whether the president thinks the school and the police did the right thing or not as he has been silent on this. Wilmore asked in a clip uploaded to Facebook. “Was it a little cool to be arrested?”

On The Nightly Show, Ahmed revealed that at one point his hands were cuffed so far up his back that he was nearly doing “the Nae Nae backwards”, a yoga-worthy demonstration Wilmore said he wouldn’t be able to replicate if he tried.

“I would say my next invention would be a side hoverboard”, Mohamed said. Wilmore capped off the short appearance by gifting Mohammed two watches: The first a mess of wires, blinking lights and a soldering iron; the second, a new Apple watch.
