However, Syria’s military command declared the US-Russian-brokered truce at an end.

After months of negotiations, the United States and Russian Federation reached the agreement on September 9 that calls for a ceasefire, the delivery of aid and the joint targeting of Islamist rebels in Syria.
Secretary of State John Kerry says the week-old truce in Syria brokered by the USA and Russian Federation is “holding but fragile” despite persistent violence and a lack of aid deliveries to besieged communities.
The officials, who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, said Russian Federation must take immediate action to demonstrate its seriousness in applying pressure for Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government to comply with the ceasefire.
“If we did get this wrong, which it looks we did, it’s not something we meant to do”, the official said, adding that Centcom plans to investigate how targeting personnel could have confused a Syrian military unit with Islamic State fighters.
The Observatory said that military planes had carried out more than 40 strikes since the Syrian army announced the end of the truce.
Speaking at the UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, Lavrov said a US “Predator-type” drone was responsible – adding that one left Incirlik Air Base in Turkey and flew across the same area.
US officials said there are lingering questions about reports that the troops or people on the ground were not wearing uniforms and that they were armed, leading to confusion about who they might be.
“We just began today to see real movement of humanitarian goods, and let’s see where we are”.
MOD says it can “confirm that the United Kingdom participated in the recent coalition airstrike in Syria, south of Deir el-Zour on Saturday, and we are fully cooperating with the coalition investigation”. Under terms of the agreement, the successful completion of seven days of calm and humanitarian aid deliveries would be followed by an ambitious second-stage plan to set up a joint U.S. The accord calls for a nationwide truce, but that excludes attacks on the Islamic State and a former al-Qaida affiliate, Jabhat Fatah al-Sham.
It said in a statement that “terrorist groups”, a term the Syrian government uses to refer to all insurgents fighting against it, had failed to commit to any of the provisions of the deal, and had used the ceasefire to rearm whilst violating it 300 times.
Rudskoy said that the week-long truce had been violated 302 times and that 63 civilians had been killed.
Earlier Monday, Lt. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi of the Russian military’s General Staff said in a briefing that Damascus had fulfilled its obligations.
62 Syrian soldiers were killed and over 100 injured in the airstrike. On Monday the opposition reported 254 violations by government forces and their allies since the truce started.
Washington hopes it will lead to talks on ending a war that has splintered Syria, uprooted 11 million people and created the world’s worst refugee crisis.
“They were surrounded, they were considerably weakened as a result of Syrian and Russian efforts”, political analyst and commentator on Middle Eastern affairs, Hafsa Kara-Mustapha told Radio Sputnik.
The raids came as what is likely to be the final attempt by the USA administration of President Barack Obama to find a negotiated solution to the five year old civil war appeared close to collapse.

But after several days of relative calm, fighting escalated across major battlefronts, culminating in a deadly US-led air raid on a Syrian army position and fresh strikes on Aleppo.
