Ailing OF Cuddyer has knee re-examined, still out for Mets

Wright, who has been rehabbing from spinal stenosis in Los Angeles, will travel to New York and begin to “engage in baseball activity” with the Mets early next week, general manager Sandy Alderson said.

Michael Conforto, the Mets top hitting prospect and 2014 first-round pick, could be getting closer to the big leagues, reports the New York Daily News. Such passion is inescapable not only at the ballpark but also on social media, where he said he gets bombarded with Twitter notifications.

“I will say this, if anyone in the Mets’ system could, it would be him”. Mike Tauchman grounded out to cut the lead to one, but Koch struck out the last two hitters, stranding the potential tying run at third. Mets recent free agent signing Michael Cuddyer has been battling a knee injury the past couple of weeks. That is amusing because the Mets drafted position prospect Brandon Nimmo in 2011 and he probably won’t be ready until the Wilpons sell the team, or in other words, never. In 2015, Cuddyer is hitting just. If the Mets aren’t going to go for it now, when will they ever go for it? Who knows what that means, but there you go. Since a midseason promotion to Binghamton, he’s batting.

Instead of Rendon, they have Danny Espinosa, who has an on-base-plus-slugging percentage of.753. 400 and an OPS over.900.

Fans are so sick of losing and so desperate for the team to be bold and relevant that Conforto has become nearly as much an idea as a person. With Cuddyer out again, Collins turned to John Mayberry Jr., who ended Monday with a dismal. DePodesta praised the young player’s advanced approach at the plate, his underrated defense and his maturity on and off the field.

“I think we’ll try it tomorrow, whatever that is”, Cuddyer said after Sunday’s 3-1 victory in 18 innings. Well, besides any indication that Mets’ management cares enough about this team to spend a little bit of money, and put any effort at all into upgrading the team with proven major league talent.

Squeezing in that development now is important.

“The Mets could promote outfielder Michael Conforto using the same rationale that the Cubs did when they first summoned Kyle Schwarber, saying the move only would be temporary”, FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal adds.

Will the Mets call up Conforto to jump start the offense? Still, this could be his final shot to make it back. That’s the message I’ve sent to these guys. Lugo (5-4) allowed one run on four hits over seven innings to earn his third win in as many starts. In Conforto, they’re hoping they finally produced an impact bat, too.
