A strike by Air France flight attendants has disrupted flights and is costing the airline money, it’s officials say. In a statement issued Wednesday, the airline added that the strike resulted in the cancellation of almost 1,400 flights and affected some 180,000 passengers.

Air France flights operated by low-priced airlines HOP! and Transavia, as well as KLM and Delta codeshares, were not affected by the stoppage.

That comes as millions are returning home from their July holidays this weekend and millions more are departing for their August break.

Passengers due to travel tomorrow, the last day of the strike, will be informed today about the situation, Air France has said.

Air France praised the “commitment of ground staff and crews” for working to maintain more than 80 percent of short- and medium-haul flights and more than 90 percent of long-haul flights during the strike.

The unions that represent about half of those striking said the walk-out is the result of long talks that failed to reach a breakthrough for new collective labor rules, pay and promotions set to expire in October.

Negotiations with the Cabin Crew Unions are expected to resume this month. The airline estimated that the stoppage cost it some 40 million euros ($45 million). The last one took place June 11-14, right at the start of Euro 2016 football championships.

Air France pilots went on strike in June during the first days of the Euro 2016 football tournament which cost the firm $44.6m
