Air France flight diverted to Montreal after threat
A Paris-bound flight that departed from San Francisco International Airport has been diverted to Montreal, officials confirmed late Monday. Authorities verified the aircraft, passengers and baggage and declare it had been a false alarm.

Most cancellations were concentrated in local traffic to and from Paris, Air France-KLM Chief Financial Officer Pierre-Francois Riolacci told reporters.
Flight 83 landed safely at Montreal’s Trudeau International Airport about midnight “as a precaution”, Air France said in a tweet.
According to a statement from Air France, “an investigation will be carried out into the origin of the threat”.
One passenger posted photos on Twitter showing calm-looking passengers aboard the plane after it landed.
Last week, Europe’s biggest low-priced airline Ryanair said it had cut prices in response to a fall in demand after the tragedy.
The flight left San Francisco Airport at 3 p.m. Monday.
In the immediate aftermath of the Paris terror attacks in November, two other Air France flights to the French capital were forced to divert following threats.
The terrorist attacks that took the lives of 130 people in Paris on November 13 have resulted in huge losses for the country’s leading airline.
Based on the airline’s numbers, flight bookings were up before the attacks, but immediately after, the company noticed a decline in flight reservations and more cancellations.
“With these new route launches, Air France is showing that it is ready to seize all possible profitable development and growth opportunities”, said Frédéric Gagey, Chairman and CEO of Air France.
