Air France-KLM chief is leaving for world aviation agency
Tata Communications’ global network – which today connects more than 300 locations for leading airlines worldwide – will enable Air France-KLM to offer a range of digital services in regions that have been identified by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as the future growth drivers of the industry.

“Alexandre will be a great leader for IATA”, Tyler, who has served five years in IATA’s top position, said.
Air France-KLM said in a statement Tuesday it has started searching for a replacement to take over by August 1.
He was credited with restructuring Air France-KLM without, for the most part, triggering major conflict with the company’s powerful unions. De Juniac is taking over from Tony Tyler.
While Frederic Gagey heads the Air France unit from which De Juniac himself was promoted, the carrier had a tradition of preferring candidates who also have civil service experience. His career began with the Conseil d’Etat (State Council) from 1988 to 1993. Subsequently, he served in the Department of Budget as a technical advisor and then as deputy chief of staff in the cabinet of Nicolas Sarkozy (1993-1995); and in the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Employment as chief of staff to then Minister Christine Lagarde (2009-2011).
The multi-year contract will see Tata Communications deploy a superfast intelligent network across 170 sites, with the network powering Air France-KLM’s mission-critical systems such as passenger check-in, flight operations and departure control applications.

Air France-KLM’s board of directors thanked De Juniac for the “excellent” achievements he made with the “economic and financial recovery of Air France-KLM, the improvement of service offering and winning back customers”. With a leadership position in emerging markets, Tata Communications leverages its advanced solutions capabilities and domain expertise across its global and pan-India network to deliver managed solutions to multi-national enterprises, service providers and Indian consumers.
