The campaign features TV spots, as well as digital, out-of-home and print creative, the latter featuring Pinterest-style images of travelers in a Tokyo artist’s loft, a California poolside or a cozy Parisian apartment, each with tagline, “Live there”. Much like hosts, every time you search you can tell the app what types of neighborhoods you’re looking for (central, walkable, family-friendly and so forth) and it’ll return results based on those criteria.
Some Airbnb hosts, such as Mr Paul Schirmer in suburban Cincinnati, say they already provide guests with a binder that includes basics such as the Wi-Fi password of their home, along with information on popular local restaurants, parks and shops.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Airbnb is adding recommendations to its online accommodations service, building on its knowledge of travelers’ preferences, coupled with tips from locals.
The San Francisco-based startup launched an updated version of its app on Tuesday created to better match customers with accommodation that meets their travel needs and preferences. “Our hosts offer more than just generic hospitality – they welcome travelers from around the world into their communities”.
That idea extends to the next major new part of the app, the neighborhood matching system.
The new app will use algorithms to match potential users with suitable homes and neighbourhoods. Airbnb went all in and created a proprietary “Design Language System”, allowing its designers to build the new app interface. In fact, the Airbnb community is featured throughout the campaign and demonstrates the contrast between standard tourism and the Airbnb travel experience.

Discussing the new focus Airbnb’s co-founder and chief executive, Brian Chesky, said: “The number one reason people chose to travel on Airbnb is they want to live like a local”.
