Merkel, who is on her eighth visit to China, said that Germany maintains a comprehensive relations with China.

According to the Airbus global market forecast, China is leading the world in passenger growth.

The statement by Col Yang Yujun followed the sailing of a U.S. guided missile destroyer within the 12-nautical mile (22-kilometer) territorial limit of one of the islands newly created by China in the strategically vital region.

“Chinese demand for travel is growing and China will need more planes to meet that demand”, said Shukor Yusof, founder of Endau Analytics consultancy in Singapore.

China’s proposal to seek a political solution to the Syrian crisis led by the United Nations may be able to deescalate the current state affairs and would also be in line with Beijing’s strategic stakes.

Thursday’s agreement also included the confirmation of 30 options for twin-aisle A330s, which were among a 75-plane deal announced when Li visited Airbus headquarters in the French city of Toulouse in January, the company spokesman told AFP.

The USA and China agreed on broad anti-hacking principles aimed at stopping the theft of corporate trade secrets after a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Barack Obama in Washington last month.

Airbus, the worlds second-largest aerospace company behind Boeing Co, is battling its USA rival for dominance of the Chinese market.

“We are looking at ways to connect Germany’s “Industry 4.0” with China’s industrial upgrading program called “Made in China 2025”.

It marks the first time Li has invited a foreign leader to his home province.

The two leaders attended a seminar with business leaders from both countries.

Germany and China are working to create an agreement that would eliminate economic cyberattacks between the two countries. “We believe this cooperation not only benefits our two organizations internationally, but will also be of value to our customers, suppliers, dealers and wider society in general”, said Matthias Mueller, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft.
