Airtel calls truce, agrees to provide additional interconnection points to Reliance Jio
The additional PoIs would translate into roughly 1900 points, given that Bharti had already provided around 600 points during Reliance Jio’s pilot launch since December a year ago, though the company did not specify a number.

Airtel is a responsible organisation committed to complying with the regulations and the interconnection agreements in letter and spirit and will continue to be so, the company said in a release.
Jio, in response, said the outgoing traffic from its network was less than two calls per customer per hour, even during peak traffic period, which requires only a reasonable number of PoIs. “Incumbent operators are describing such a modest call rate as a Tsunami of traffic from RJIL”, Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) said in a statement.
Airtel has been providing PoIs to Jio ahead of the commencement of its commercial operations.
India’s largest telecommunications services provider on Tuesday said following its bilateral discussions with Jio, it will provide additional PoIs to it.

Reliance Jio – which commercially launched its services on September 5 – has accused incumbent players of not releasing sufficient inter-connection ports and had sought legal action against them.
Idea Cellular on Monday said its current allocation of POIs would in normal circumstances cater to 4.65 million such subscribers indicating a buffer of 57 percent in calling capacity.
The conflict came to the fore following Jio customers experiencing a number of call failures due to insufficient points of interconnection being made available by the existing operators.
One of the biggest Telecom ventures of the Largest business operator Mukesh Ambani is now smashing all the smartphone and service provider market by his latest launched Jio sim which is capable of providing you with 3 months of non-stop 4G internet surfing, non-stop calling and messaging.

Jio Broadband Service Plans offers the users to get the unlimited 4G access, voice calls, SMS and fast internet services. “We have repeatedly appealed to the incumbent operators to create a fair and reciprocal framework of coopetition that is good for India and good for Indian customers”, the statement said. Over time, as the customer base grows, this asymmetry reduces and the traffic becomes symmetric.
