But for availing this offer, you need to pay Rs. 1,498 up front which would allow you to avail 1GB data right then and for subsequent 1GB data recharges, you’ll be charged just Rs.51 for a period of up to one year. With impending Jio launch, they don’t want customers to port out to Jio due to mobile data benefits they are expected to offer.

For the uninitiated, Reliance Jio service includes unlimited HD Voice (VoLTE), Video calling, unlimited SMS (9000), unlimited high speed data and Jio Apps for a period of 90 days. This has lead to huge queues before the Reliance Digital Stores putting it competitors like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, etc.in great fear of losing their customer base. The pack of Rs. 259 offered 1GB for 3G or 4G connection valid up to 28 days. Apart from this, a customer can also go for Rs. 748 pack where 1GB data can be used in 3G or 4G connection for 6 months time period and after that, one can refill it for Rs. 99 and enjoy data plan for the next 6 months.

According to a company representative, the prepaid packs are live in Delhi and will get launched across circles by August 31.

With the new tariff vouchers, the largest telecom operator in the country hopes to offer more value for money to its users.

But the interesting part is that the same 1GB 4G/3G data that cost more than Rs 250 (depending upon the circle) will be available for just Rs 51.

With the launch of Jio 4G service likely within weeks and with people already thronging Reliance stores to get a free Jio SIM, India’s biggest telecom company Airtel is now moving to defend its turf.
