Akkineni fans hoped that Akhil Akkineni, the young scion of Akkineni family would create records with his debut. Soundtracks are composed by Anup Rubens and S. S Thaman. Akhil movie has done average business at the U.S. box office in its opening weekend, becoming another big Tollywood disaster after “Bruce Lee”.
Akhil was released with a deficit of Rs 10 Crore, and producers lost another Rs 10 Crore post release as the movie failed to live up to the hype and tanked at the box-office without a trace.
After the first weekend, Akhil in Andhra Pradesh collected a total share of 14.61 Cr and in Telangana along with the total share of worldwide the collection is 16.34 Cr. It is clashing with Salman Khan’s PRDP movie. Opening collections are good for Akhil and crossed the records of Ram Charan debut film Chirutha. With an increase in ticket rates, huge release, and expanded market, Akhil still could not beat records set by Cherry 8 years ago.

Akhil has been released in large number of screens all over world and it had done a prerelease business of Rs. 40 Cr.
