Signalling a rapprochement, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said he will extend all support to his uncle Shivpal, with whom he was locked in a bitter turf war that spilled out into the open following Shivpal’s appointment as Samajwadi Party’s state unit president.

“You have to go to the party office”.

Party sources said Akhilesh had agreed to allow Shivpal to remain president of the state unit only on the condition that he (Akhilesh) would be given a say in ticket distribution. Late socialist leader in SP, Mohan Singh had expressed deep concern about this influence, and told reporters at the time that the Samajwadi party was suffering as a outcome.

The CM keeping PWD department with him and not giving it to Mr Shivpal Yadav also shows that something is wrong, she added.

While the final contours of the peace formula will be announced on Saturday, what has come to light is that Shivpal will be awarded all his Cabinet portfolios which Akhilesh had divested him of earlier this week. “It’s election time and everyone should go to booth level and spread awareness on the good work done by the government”. This crucial segment, which Shivpal controls to a great degree, has always felt alienated from Akhilesh’s Lucknow-bound style of functioning. Akhilesh had come to me. As per a media report, Mulayam reportedly said that Shivpal was opposed to Akhilesh being made CM after the 2012 polls and had said that he should be elevated to the position only after 2014 General Elections. On more than one occasion, Mulayam Singh Yadav has mixed up his role as the father and the party chief by choosing to reprimand the CM in public, all of which the CM has put up with a grin.

He has also quit from the post of president of the party, to which he was appointed by SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Borussia coach Andre Schubert said: “We had to get everything right, be very courageous, attack high up with high intensity”.

After his meeting with Mulayam, which lasted hardly for about 15 minutes, Shivpal left for his residence after which Akhilesh Yadav returned home to meet Mulayam and they discussed the situation.

“Hum sab Netaji ke saath hain (We are all with Mulayam)”, he said. “We want him to bring back Akhilesh who is undisputed leader of youth and poor and has done a lot for the development of state”, Kashyap said. The supporters of Shivpal are also reaching the party headquarters in Lucknow.

More than two dozen Samajwadi Party legislators and Uttar Pradesh assembly Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey met Shivpal Yadav. In response, Akhilesh took back important portfolios from Shivpal. However, it is not confirmed yet if his resignation has been accepted.

Meanwhile in Etawah, hundreds of Shivpal’s supporters gathered at Shastri crossing and sat on dharna demanding that all portfolios be restored to him.
