Akhilesh says he will support Shivpal

And even though Mulayam has shown people the reason for this odd power equation in the state many times in the past, he was perhaps trying to show who is boss yet again on Saturday when he said that his brother Shivpal Yadav had warned him against making Akhilesh the CM after the 2012 polls.

Yesterday, AKhilesh had admitted he was very upset at being removed from the post of state party president by his father and party supremo and had demanded that he be given a say in the ticket distribution for the 2017 Assembly election. “I have myself congratulated our party” s state president Shivpal Yadav after meeting him at his residence…. “I built this party with my sweat and blood.will not allow this”, the supremo told the workers many of whom carried placards demanding the return of Akhilesh as State party chief. It is the party’s parliamentary board which takes final decision on ticket distribution.

Akhilesh Yadav later appealed through the media that banners, hoardings and posters along with sloganeering should be stopped with immediate effect. In this all active political members of family are invited, which include Shivpal Yadav, his wife Sarla Yadav, son Aditya, other brother Ramgopal Yadav, his son Akshya Yadav, MP Dharmender Yadav.

Flaying the Chief Minister, Mr. Maurya said he has damaged the constitutional dignity of his post.”by holding an “outsider” responsible for whatever is taking place in his ministry”. The announcements can be seen as per the compromise formula worked out by party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, who asserted that “There can be no division in the party, till I am alive”. He added that “Politics is not a game for me, it is a serious business”. I am a player… have played football and cricket also… “Nearly all the schemes he talks about were launched by me, be it Kanya Vidya Dhan, free power to farmers for irrigation, or free medicine to poor”, he said.

Meanwhile, acting on a letter sent by Akhilesh on Friday, Governor Ram Naik re-allocated the portfolios of Irrigation and Flood Control, Revenue, Disaster and Rehabilitation and Public Service Management, and Cooperatives, along with the new portfolios of Medical Education, AYUSH and Minor Irrigation to Shivpal. “It’s election time and everyone should spread awareness on the good work done by the government”.

“Wherever the youths go, the direction changes”.

In 2014, a former bureaucrat had observed, “Democracy appears to have been converted into a family affair and the chief minister does not seem to be having a free hand in running his own government”.

“We have been asked to work at the booth-level to strengthen the party. We have a great organisation”, he said.

Akhilesh also took back Mining Minister Gayatri Prajapati, a Shivpal protege whom he had earlier sacked, sparking the crisis in the Samajwadi Party.
