“One should apply one’s wit”, the Samajwadi Party leader said.

The Yadav family has been embroiled in a bitter row since Monday, with Mulayam’s son Akhilesh locking horns with Mulayam’s brother Shivpal, and the SP supremo seeming to come down on Shivpal’s side. “I have seen that those who take over as chief minister in Uttar Pradesh become arrogant”.
ANOTHER day of continuing turmoil in the Samajwadi Party began with supporters of Akhilesh Yadav putting up a noisy show of solidarity with him, and ended with the chief minister being given an important role in the selection of party candidates for next year’s assembly elections and for other organisational posts. Everyone considered it as a reward to the son whose spotless innocent face had taken the SP to an unprecedented tally of 224 seats in the 403-member UP assembly – something that even the seasoned father could never attain. An attempt to patch up a few days ago when Shivpal Yadav had visited the CM blew in the partys face with authoritarian decisions by Mulayam Singh.
Replying to questions from India TV, Akhilesh Yadav said: “I am ready to return party posts and even portfolios but I must have the power to distribute tickets, because the forthcoming poll is after all a test for me and my party”.
“I congratulated “chacha” (uncle) on being nominated as the state unit head of the party.I have assured him that I will extend full cooperation”, the chief minister said.
Earlier, hundreds of Shivpal Yadav supporters massed outside his residence and raised anti-Akhilesh slogans demanding that all the departments be restored to their leader.
The party is also learnt to have chose to change its state spokesperson, Rajendra Chaudhary, who could be replaced by ex-minister Ambika Chaudhary. Akhilesh said, “Netaji and I have decided today that he will not let any outsider come between us or the party”.
Aditya’s resignation from the PCF may disqualify him for the position on the IFFCO Board and also divest him of his ICA Directorship, said cooperative experts in the know of things. I accept Netaji’s decision to bring Gayatri Prajapati back into cabinet. I keep warning them to mend their ways in time before the elections.
“We have been asked to work at the booth-level to strengthen the party”.
Akhilesh said at a function that he has rejected the resignation of Shivpal and he will comply with whatever his father directs. Although, Khan appears to be in Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s camp, he had so far remained silent on the controversy.

“If Akhilesh is unhappy with Shivpal because of this (appointment of the latter as the SP state chief), he should remember that people have accepted him as CM because he is my son”. Mulayam said Shivpal was opposed to Akhilesh being made CM after the 2012 polls and had suggested that he should be elevated to the position only after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
