Akram slams PCB for probing Paks Asia Cup debacle
Karachi, Mar.03: Pakistan opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad is likely to be recalled in the national squad for next week’s World Twenty20 in India, following a complete failure of the top-order in the ongoing Asia Cup. Shahid Afridi’s men crashed out of the tournament following their defeat at the hands of hosts Bangladesh by five wickets on Wednesday.

Other members of the Pakistani team will return at night.
“In the current lot, I don’t think there is anyone better than Afridi to lead the side”, said Akram.
While talking to the media, Afridi stated that he will make a comeback in the T20 World Cup which is going to be in India in a few days’ time.
While Shahid Afridi came directly here from Dhaka, the remaining players of the team including Vice Captain Sarfraz Ahmed, Khurram Manzoor, Sharjeel Khan and Muhammad Sami would land here via Dubai later tonight. We all know him well and his performances.
But Pakistan legend Akram believes the PCB’s reaction could be counterproductive just over a week before the team’s World T20 opener against a qualifier in Kolkata. “It is our team it is Pakistan’s team and this is the time for everyone to support it wholeheartedly”, Misbah, who has been captain in the different formats since 2010, said yesterday. “I work according to a set schedule. I am ready to work in any capacity but first someone needs to offer me a proper role”, he said.

However, the former skipper agreed to Waqar Younis’ claim that the head coach should be included in the selection team. “He needs to watch the matches and players we have available to build a good combination”, he added.
