A SMALL plane has clipped power and phone lines and crossed a busy street before plunging into a residential apartment in Akron, Ohio. We do know there are deaths in the plane, but we don’t know how many or who the passengers are, Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Bill Haymaker told reporters at the scene.
She said it’s scary to think that if she had been driving faster the plane may have clipped her auto.
The plane then hit an embankment beyond the apartment building, causing a nearby house to also burn, he said.
Summit County Medical Examiner Dr. Lisa Kohler said Tuesday night that authorities still hadn’t confirmed how many people were on the plane.
Authorities say no one aboard the plane survived, but they have not confirmed the number of people on the plane.
It was not immediately known if there were other injuries in the crash.
No one on the ground was injured.
“Definitely it could have been a lot worse”, said Haymaker.
Witnesses reported hearing explosions when the plane hit.
