“It is being claimed that Akshay was “detained”, which is absolutely incorrect”. Akshay also supports a citizenship and the rules state that a Canadian national is allowed to look at the British over a visitor visa, but as Akshay was in London for a shoot, he desired a visa stamp. “It was just a delay for which immigration apologised and he went on with his day”. During the period of detaining, Akshay was made to sit in the general holding area prescribed for detained passengers.
The actor, who was accompanied by his personal trainer, had requested to be seated in a special area, but his request was declined by the airport authority. She said, “We all know that no one can enter or even work in the United Kingdom without the right permit and there was no exception in the case of Akshay Kumar who travelled to the United Kingdom with all the correct documents”.
The Airlift star was then asked to wait at the general area for more than an hour while the airport officials sorted the issue.

“Rustom” being directed by Tinu Suresh Desai will see Akshay playing the role of a naval officer. “He was at immigration for barely two minutes, after which he left the airport”.
