Al Franken Mocks “Megalomaniac” Donald Trump at Democratic Convention

The party seemed confident that Sanders and Clinton supporters could come together for the convention – but that was before leaked Democratic National Convention emails suggested the DNC had favored Clinton’s campaign over the Vermont senator’s.

“I got my doctorate in megalomaniac studies at Trump University”, he joked, referring to the now-defunct real estate school that the billionaire mogul once established.

Summing up his speech, Franken said, “I think rather than voting for someone who’s never done anything for anyone other than himself, maybe we should go with a candidate who’s spent her entire life working to get important things done for the American people”. The suits claim, more or less, that the whole setup is just a scam that has caused hundreds of thousands of people significant financial loss. “It’s also about learning directly from success experts, like Scott Baio, Mike Tyson and, of course, a life-sized cutout of Mr. Trump himself”. He also quipped sardonically that Trump’s business record qualifies him to be president, but added: “If you believe that I have some delicious Trump steaks to sell you”. “I am proud to call Hillary Clinton my friend, and I can’t wait to call her Madame President”, he said. Franken then noted his margin of victory the first time he ran for U.S. Senate: 312 votes.

“I talked to Bernie last night”, Franken said. “[They’re] the reason I’m giving the speech here and not into my bathroom mirror”.

“A lot of you have jobs”. But starting Friday morning, it’s all about hard work.

“Many of you have families”, he noted facetiously. “Kids love it when they’re parents aren’t home”, he asserted. Ignore them. Eight-year-old kids know how to work microwave ovens….

“Get on those phones, knock on those doors, and tell them, get on those funds, and tell them, ‘Al Franken sent you'”.
