Al Jazeera reporter: Documentary not alleging Peyton Manning used HGH
“We have not said that in the program”, said Davies, the reporter central to the story that set off a threat from Manning to sue the company. Sly claimed he was working for an Indianapolis anti-aging clinic when Manning was recovering from surgeries in 2011, when he was with the Colts.

Al Jazeera reporter Deborah Davies attempted to clarify the report in a follow up on NBC’s “Today” show saying, saying that the documentary had not stated that Manning had used the banned substance. There are no shortcuts in the NFL.
Mr. Sly said he was a pharmacy intern in 2013 at the Guyer Institute in Indianapolis, where Mr. Manning received treatment for an injury in 2011. The documentary clearly suggests Peyton Manning did something wrong. Defamation lawsuits involving public figures require proof of “actual malice”, towards the plaintiff, which means Manning would have to prove that Al-Jazeera not only aired false statements, but that they were well aware that the statements they aired were false.
Despite the dubious nature of the claims made in the documentary, Al-Jazeera English aired the documentary Saturday evening and released on YouTube where as of 6:30 MST Sunday Night.
For Manning, the NFL’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns and one of the league’s biggest stars for more than a decade, the claims represented a rare strike against his integrity. Nobody has more respect for Peyton than I do, and everything that he’s accomplished.
The Denver7 Investigators also looked into the background of Charles Sly, the pharmacist who made the allegations about shipments to Manning’s wife on Al Jazeera’s undercover video. While it can not necessarily be proven to be accurate or true right away, there is no reason to indict them for their work. “If Peyton Manning tells you something, that’s the way that it is”, Fulmer said.
The accusations are in a report by Al Jazeera, based on secret recordings of an unpaid student intern at the facility. “We will go to court to hold Al Jazeera and other responsible parties accountable for smearing our clients’ good names”, Burck said. “There were times when I went in the morning and there were times when I went after practice so this thing about “after hours” is so misleading because it may have been 5:15 pm because their office closed at 5″, clarified Manning.
“He was consistent, he was calm, he was absolutely not badgered, ” she said.

Fulmer said he is standing behind his former player. Anyone who construed her comments as a shift, she said, has been misinformed.
