Wichita State forward Anton Grady (15) is taken off the court after an injury during the second half of an NCAA college basketball game Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, in Orlando, Fla. Wichita State still took USC to the wire in the first round Thursday before falling 72-69 in the first round. Has feeling in his extremities but he can’t move.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman tweeted Friday night that Gregg Marshall said Grady has a spinal concussion and should be better in a day or so. The school said he was alert and responsive during the trip to the hospital.

As Grady turned to run up the court, his chin struck an opposing player, causing his head to rotate to one side. They’ve played smart, knowing when and where to pick spots and recognizing different defensive schemes teams have thrown at them over the course of the game.

The Tide would again respond, this time with back-to-back threes from Shannon Hale and Riley Norris to retake the lead, 58-55, and never trailed again.

“This was a team victory”, Alabama coach Avery Johnson said. “And I was just very proud of the competitive spirit, not getting down on themselves to withstand runs from a Top 20 team in the country”.

Wichita State (2-2) played without senior guard Fred VanVleet, who missed his second consecutive game with ankle and hamstring injuries.

“We’re more talented, a year older and our players have improved their skill sets, decision making, their bodies – meaning they’re stronger and they have an understanding of what it takes to win at this level”, Enfield said after the Northridge game. USC made 52.2 percent of its three-pointers (12-for-23) and 45.5 percent overall from the floor (25-for-55).

McDuffie and Baker combined for all the points during a 12-0 run that put Wichita State up 49-43 7 minutes into the second half.

No. 25 Texas A&M 62, No. 10 Gonzaga 61: PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Danuel House scored 19 points, and Texas A&M edged Gonzaga to advance to the championship game of the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Baker, and a heavily partisan WSU crowd, did all theycould to keep the Shockers in the game.

The area of concern however, continues to be free throws.

LET ME ASSIST YOU – USC has averaged 3.6 more assists per game than turnovers this season (18.2 to 14.6 per game). Missouri State is 33-1 in home openers since joining Division I for the 1982-83 season, and has won 13 straight.

Bluiett, who had just five points at the half, led all scorers with 15 and Jaylen Reynolds had 10 points and nine rebounds.
