Alabama to pay Planned Parenthood’s legal fees after cutting its funding
The Montgomery Advertiser reported that Gov. Bentley’s attempt to strip Planned Parenthood Southeast of its Medicaid funding failed after a federal judge ruled against Bentley, leaving residents of Alabama to foot the bill for legal fees after the state settled.

The lawmaker from Colorado said eight Republicans on a select House committee investigating Planned Parenthood have used the phrase “baby body parts” – or one like it – 33 times since July.
His insistence comes in spite of efforts by pro-choice activists to shut down the probe by citing last week’s fatal shootings at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado.
McCarthy, who controls the floor schedule, said he expects the House to pass the omnibus spending bill by December 11, when money for the federal government is scheduled to run out.
Vicki Cowart, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains, said Sunday on ABC News’ This Week that she believed a “negative environment” around Planned Parenthood contributed to recent attacks on the health care provider.
Lankford said the shooting was unlikely to impact the debate this week on defunding Planned Parenthood. But that veto would not affect existing programs, and Republicans hope to get the measure to him over solid Democratic opposition so they can use it to draw contrasts with Democrats during the 2016 campaigns. The House approved its version in October.
“State police are having discussions with staff at planned parenthood clinics around the state about security”. Medicaid only pays for abortions in the case of rape or incest or when a mother’s life is in danger. “We’ll see how that plays out”.
Those who take on abortions say protesters picket their houses, stalk them in the supermarket and post their photographs on the Internet.
“We all came together and we talked about what we do know as facts in regards to Colorado and what we know in regards to our security here at Planned Parenthood”, said Rouse.
Cecile Richards is walking a fine line: She paints the shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic as one of many attacks linked to “hateful rhetoric”.
But Governor Bentley said he remained committed to trying to de-fund Planned Parenthood.
Friday’s attack left three people dead and another nine injured. Planned Parenthood countered that the videos were deceptively edited and that they had done nothing illegal or unethical.
Without naming Republicans, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., seemed to insinuate that the GOP has helped create a risky brew of issues.

Alabama threatened to cut off Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid funding after a series of “sting” videos implied the organization was illegally profiting from the sale of aborted fetal tissue.
