Alabama wanted Clemson star Deshaun Watson ‘bad’ during recruiting process

Jordan has been there, done that and still has the T-shirt to prove it. The sophomore quarterback has completed 303 of 444 passes for 3,699 yards, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 14 games (including Clemson’s 37-17 win over Oklahoma in the national semifinal). Watson’s athleticism can be a little scary, particularly for a team whose recent bugaboo has been versatile quarterback.

“He’s the one who pretty much taught me everything about the defense and things I should do on the field and shouldn’t”, said Ragland about the two-time, first-team All-American. “But leading up to the Orange Bowl it seemed like every time I turned around there was a tape recorder or camera pointed at me”.

Swinney puts it simply: “You can’t be 15-0 unless you’re 3-0”. Leave a comment and let me know.

Alabama on the other hand is arguably the best defense in the land.

“I watched this kid in high school”.

Contain Clemson QB Deshaun Watson: This is one of those “duh!” keys, but its obviousness doesn’t make it any easier. Those quarterbacks beat Bama by keeping plays alive.

“Most of it is made to order”, she said.

The system gives the college game, which inspires passions that often outstrip those felt for pro teams, the kind of knock-out playoff system beloved of United States sports fans.

“It doesn’t happen by accident”. I think that was a really bad idea. Clemson is very good, but Alabama will hoist the CFB Playoff Trophy on Monday night.

Swinney has called Clemson home ever since, and officially has been adopted by the small town whose team has returned to national prominence under the eighth-year head coach. But in 2015, the top two seeds have left no doubt that they are the best two teams in college football.

Jenkins says he still can’t believe he has the tickets to see his team. “I hoped it would”.

For Jeff Davis, the Tigers’ All-American middle linebacker and team captain in 1981, the journey this season has been more personal. Clemson is no different in this aspect.

Just finding a place to live was tough for Carol Swinney, now McIntosh, and her sons. They can both get sideline to sideline. Clemson comes with an undefeated record following a commanding win over one of the hotter teams in the nation Oklahoma. We are who we are, they are who they are. For now though, Swinney knows at least a few Tide fans are conflicted.

So before everyone heads out for the game, and while we’ve still got your attention in the waning hours of the work week it’s time to discuss the most important topic of all.

If things had played out the way Kirby Smart wanted, Deshaun Watson would be suiting up for Alabama on Monday night rather than preparing to defeat the Crimson Tide.

“We’re appreciative of the NCAA working with us in granting this waiver to assist in our preparations for next Monday’s game while maintaining our commitment to student-athlete welfare”, Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich said in a statement. That is not a good omen for Clemson. He formerly worked in the college football hot bed of Alabama for The Birmingham News. “Those three guys could have played in any era”. “There’s just an excitement”, said Bryant.

The biggest advantage for this year’s Clemson team would be on the offensive line. “This is family”, said Miller, whose M&M Hardware in neighboring Alabaster was once owned by Swinney’s late father. There’s a lot of good defensive lineman.
