Soon fans of the Oscar-winning Disney animated movie will have a chance to see a few of the jokes, impressions, and ad-libs that Williams performed in the recording booth but ultimately hit the cutting room floor.
“Aside from him being amusing as anything, he was such a warm, person”, Goldberg said of Williams.
“When Tim Rice came on to writing with me on Aladdin, I quickly put together this song and “One Jump Ahead” and quickly flew over to London”, Menken said of the songwriting process behind “A Whole New World”. Musker spoke on GMA about their lost friend and said, “He was the Genie…he was bigger than life”. “Fortunately for us, he did, [but] we were totally walking down the plank”.
Musker, co-writer and director Ron Clements, composer Alan Menken and cast members Scott Weinger (Aladdin), Linda Larkin (Jasmine), Brad Kane (Aladdin’s singing voice) Lea Salonga (Jasmine’s singing voice) and Jonathan Freeman (Jafar) reunited to talk about the film and share their memories of Williams.
