Aladdin, Lion King, and Jungle Book retro classics now available on GOG

Just remember, these good old games are surprisingly hard core, and your older digits might not be as fast as they once were. Today GOG.com announced that they were teaming up with Disney to offer downloads of three classic 16-bit games that you can now play on your computer.

In case you’re wondering, the Aladdin port is based off the far superior, Virgin Games-developed Genesis version instead of the dumb, Capcom-developed SNES game that Jordan likes. While hardly classics of the genre, they’re still worth checking out if you have a fondness for the 16-bit era.

Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book are now available DRM-free for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Previously unavailable to modern gamers, all three titles have been meticulously updated to be compatible with modern operating systems while preserving the original graphics, sound, and gameplay. They’re also available in a bundle for $19.99 United States dollars until August 8th.

Of course, no mention of these revered platformers would be complete without a nod to their groundbreaking visuals.

The releases are the latest result of a partnership between GOG.com and Disney, which already saw the release of other classic Lucasfilm games since October of 2014.
