Alamo Bowl matchup changes with Boykin suspension
“Word’s cant describe how sorry I am”. He said he has no excuses for his “very poor decision” and that he was embarrassed. “There’s nothing I wanted to do more than play one last game with my family seniors”. “It’s unfortunate for him because Trevone has meant so much to TCU and we love him”.

“I feel like this is going to be a really good game”. “Before the actual football practice, when I first met him in person, I knew he was something special”.
“It’s a ballgame that’s very similar with two teams that have a lot of speed, two teams that try to be innovative as far as how they coach, to try not just to beat you with athletes, but schematically get you outnumbered”, Patterson said. I have full confidence in my teammates when they take the field Saturday.
TCU coach Gary Patterson is 4-0 against Pac-12 opponents with the Horned Frogs. “But the two other quarterbacks, I’ve been practicing with the last couple years”.
San Antonio police chief William McManus said Boykin struck a bike officer in the face, perhaps inadvertently, during a struggle with officers following an altercation with bar patrons at 1:52 a.m.at Pat O’Brien’s, a sports bar a half-block from the team hotel. He has since been released after posting bond.
TCU star quarterback Trevone Boykin was suspended after an arrest on Thursday, and OR coach Mark Helfrich announced that Matt Lubick is his new offensive coordinator on Friday.
Schlabach added Boykin was charged with third-degree felony assault of a police officer.
Senior Bram Kohlhausen or redshirt freshman Foster Sawyer will start in Boykin’s place.
Boykin posted an apology on his Twitter account Thursday night. TCU coach Gary Patterson issued a statement, saying: “Trevone Boykin and [junior wide receiver] Preston Miller have been suspended for Saturday’s game due to a violation of team rules”.
‘I can assure you that I have because it took away the incredible honor and privilege it was to wear a TCU jersey’.
Boykin passed for 3,575 yards and 31 touchdowns and ran for 612 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.
Boykin looked like a favorite for the Heisman Trophy as No. 11 TCU (10-2) opened 8-0, passing for 2,928 yards with 28 TDs and five INTs while rushing for 524 yards and six scores.
