Alaska Airlines announces service to Wichita

Alaska Airlines will offer direct flights from Indianapolis to Seattle starting in the spring of 2017, the airline announced Wednesday.

Service from Seattle to Indianapolis and Wichita, Kansas were announced today.

According to Alaska’s website, the main-cabin fare on the inaugural flight to Seattle is $169 one way. The return flight to Seattle will leave at 6:10 p.m. and arrive at 7:55 p.m. local time.

Tickets for the new route are on sale now.

Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell said in a news release that the added trip will benefit the city’s aviation businesses in particular. “Alaska is a flawless complement to our first-class terminal and mix of air service offered at Eisenhower National Airport”. Pacific Northwest-inspired food and beverages will be served on-board.

The new nonstop service is the first year-round flight to Seattle in Indy’s airport. “As the Air Capital of the World, Wichita is a natural addition to our ever expanding service offerings”.

Alaska Airlines has service to 110 destinations in the United States, Hawaii, Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico. Among its many accolades, Alaska Airlines ranked highest in customer satisfaction among traditional carriers for nine consecutive years in North America.
