After three matches were in the books in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament on WWE RAW Monday night, it was time for the final quarterfinal bout. This one featured Kalisto taking on the US Champion Alberto Del Rio. In January, it was Reigns’ greatest night in his career.

As for the match itself, well, it was actually about as good as you’d imagine.
The crowd, even the Internet crowd, seems to be slowly coming around on Reigns. The fans in Philadelphia booed Reigns. There’s no reason mentioned why Ambrose is getting a push from people over Reigns. The reactions will be similar, proving that Reigns will be a top of the company in the closing months of 2015. I already talked about Cesaro-Reigns, which was the match of the night. Ambrose-Ziggler and Owens-Neville also lived up to the billing.

But it ended up bad for him as the Brothers of Destruction came to the ring and following a brawl, he was double-chokeslammed. However, WWE does need to take a step back and ask if any of it makes sense. Undertaker and Kane came back, and showed that they still have their powers. Bray then uses Undertaker’s Druid minions against him, as they now wear sheep masks. The campiness is fine, the WWE just needs to shape the campiness into a logical story.

The opening round in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament saw a few of WWE’s best and brightest stars compete for an opportunity to claim the title at Survivor Series.
So far, Tyler Breeze has not made much of a splash since being called up to the main roster.

An interesting note: earlier in the show, Reigns and Ambrose did a backstage segment talking about what would happen if they reached the finals at Survivor Series. They did a good job of showing various sides of Breeze’s character during the match, which they really didn’t get to do when Breeze lost to Ambrose last week. Absolutely. And while this tournament may have lacked in suspense – Kalisto’s win over Ryback was the only upset – it’s served its objective perfectly, weaving in the storyline of who will sell-out at Survivor Series, setting up potential feuds and leaving us with four viable challengers for Seth Rollins’ vacated title.
