This left Del Rio to join the League of Nations, a faction that had a lot of potential but instead just fell flat on its face due to bad booking.

Del Rio’s stunning win over John Cena seemingly suggested that he was going to get a big push, yet not 1 year has passed and Del Rio is already leaving the company.
However, there may be a clause in his clause that allows Del Rio to end his services with WWE before the suspension ends.
As has been speculated about for weeks, Alberto Del Rio and WWE have officially parted ways. The joke led to an altercation between the employee and Del Rio.
On this week’s episode of MSL & Sullivan, available on MLWradio.com, former ROH & EVOLVE commentator Mister Saint Laurent and former WCW matchmaker Kevin Sullivan discussed the romantic relationship between Alberto Del Rio and Paige. Del Rio’s lawyer informed WWE 60 days ago he was opting out of the deal meaning the notice given before he failed the wellness check.

Del Rio is not expected to return to the company at all, and is free at the end of September to work anywhere in the United States. He was suspended for thirty days for a wellness policy violation and it looks like we will not be seeing him again according to Wrestling Inc. Lucha Underground may not have the kind of money Del Rio would want to sign on, however. And though TNA has expressed an interest in the star, Del Rio’s financial options are much more limited than when he first left WWE.
