The good news is that after five months of wait, Alcatel is finally launching the Idol 4s in the United States on its official website on August 3rd.

Alcatel has sweetened its latest smartphone offering with the addition of a bundled virtual reality headset.

Alcatel today announced that it is bringing the unlocked IDOL 4S to the North America. The most notable of which is the inclusion of VR goggles, a 2.5D tempered glass screen protector, JBL headphones, and an Incipio protective case. I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that, right?

Looking at the hardware specifications really quick, no one should expect to get a flagship competitor that can go toe-to-toe with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and anything else among the current brood.

As for the rest of the nitty-gritty details, it sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a 1,440 x 2,560 resolution. Storage is set at 32GB and expansion is possible due to the inclusion of a microSD card slot which supports cards up to 200GB. The smartphone support LTE bands 2/4/5/7/12/17 and it is able to work on GSM carriers like T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, MetroPCS, Metrics and AT&T.

According to Alcatel, the Idol 4S will commence its pre-order status starting from July 15 and pre-orders will begin to be fulfilled with shipping taking place in “early August”.

While the phone is priced at $350 during the pre-order period, once it officially goes on sale August 3rd, the price goes up to $400.

Alcatel is releasing this version of the Idol 4S high-end phone for US buyers, adding Android Pay mobile payments, a fingerprint reader and a convenience key that can be programmed to quickly launch apps.
