Alcatel + Windows = PLUS 10 hybrid laptop
Probably the weirdest thing about this tablet is the placement of its 4G LTE radio: it’s in the keyboard, which functions as a mobile hotspot for up to 15 devices. This is achieved through the included 4G/Wi-Fi connected keyboard and through the multiple USB, microUSB and microHDMI ports that the PLUS 10 features, which is rare for devices in the category. The company’s new brand is meant to be in tune with its target market, millennials.

According to Alcatel’s press release announcing the device, the PLUS 10 comes in three modes.
The “Plus 10” works as a normal tablet but the 10.1-inch display tablet can also be stuck into the keyboard to work as a laptop, the Verge reports. It’s detachable keyboard also features 4G LTE connectivity, and can serve as a Wi-Fi hotspot not only for the Plus 10, but for up to 14 other devices as well. It features a quad-core Intel processor, dual front speakers with 3D audio effect, and a high-resolution (1200 x 800) IPS display. Also on offer is 32GB of internal memory which is further expandable to 64GB via microSD. It has a 5,830mAh battery, which can be combined with the 2,589mAh battery in the keyboard for extra power.
The PLUS could serve as a very useful device, depending on the price. Alcatel notes that the Plus 10 is “40 percent lighter than an average laptop”, but does not specify how much the device actually weighs. With the combined batteries of the keyboard and tablet, Alcatel says the device can easily last 8 hours. However the company will make available the PLUS 10 in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa by June 2016.

To complete PLUS 10’s long list of functionalities, it has both a front and rear-facing camera, with front flash which is ideal for video calls. The new two-in-one will come in metallic silver, matte white, matte black and a grey leather finish.
