Ehrenreich’s role as Solo in an untitled Star Wars spinoff movie, which starts filming early next year, was confirmed Sunday at Star Wars Celebration in London’s giant ExCel center.

Alden Ehrenreich is officially the Star Wars universe’s young Han Solo. Apparently, Ehrenreich was literally the first person to audition for the role out of more than 3,000 actors. He also screentested in the Millennium Falcon and with Chewbacca, too.
The iconic role was originally played by Harrison Ford.
Still, since production is so early on the two pics there was little in the way of new details – especially compared to Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’s panel Friday which included the main cast, new footage and the official poster.

The director said that while Star Wars: The Force Awakens was “this incredible explosion of adventure and excitement, it’s very natural that the second film is where we zoom in on the characters, getting at the heart of the them, challenging them, pushing them deeper”.
Lord and Miller nearly had cameos in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Following preliminary work in Skellig Michael off the coast of Ireland, the film lensed in Pinewood Studios, England, Dubrovnik, Croatia and County Cork, Ireland.
On the bright side, Miller did get to play a storm trooper in The Empire Strikes Back special edition release. And that is, I mean… it’s like, it’s pretty unbelievable. They didn’t speak about Episode VIII, but they did talk about how they are like siblings in real life.
It was the worst-kept secret in Hollywood: Alden Ehrenreich, an actor best known for playing an actor playing a cowboy, has been tapped to play young Han Solo.
Still, a title drop for Episode VIII would have felt appropriate.
