Meanwhile, Syrian government air strikes overnight put four hospitals in Aleppo province out of action, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Sunday.
The country’s largest city and former commercial center has been contested since July 2012 and Aleppo residents have been reporting shortages of food in rebel-held parts of the city because of the siege.
In the north, the bombardment of Aleppo since Saturday, July 23, has worsened the plight of residents of besieged eastern neighborhoods, where food and medical supplies are becoming increasingly scarce.

It said a two-day-old baby was killed in the children’s hospital when his oxygen supply was cut after a raid during the early hours of Sunday.

Once Syria’s economic powerhouse, Aleppo has been ravaged by the conflict that began in March 2011 with anti-government protests.
Across Syria, around 5.5 million people are trapped in hard-to-reach and besieged areas with little physical protection and limited access to basic life-saving assistance, he said.
Moscow and Washington have differed over the role of Al Nusra with Russian Federation calling the group terrorists and the United States asking Russian Federation not to target them for fear of hitting the moderate opposition.
Moscow and Washington are nominally co-chairs of global efforts to bring President Bashar al-Assad’s regime to the negotiating table with opposition groups.
“The General Command urged via the messages members of the armed groups to lay down their arms and take the initiative to settle their legal status”, the agency said. The Americans hope the move might lead to the resumption of the abandoned peace talks in August, and even to a grounding of the Syrian air force.
A Nusra Front official told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the group’s leader Abu Mohammed al-Golani plans to announce a disassociation with al-Qaida soon.
The Syria Democratic Forces say the offer is meant to protect civilians in the town.
The strikes followed weekend rebel rocket attacks on western Aleppo and central Damascus, killing 11.
It is understood the baby in the video is not the same baby killed in the air strike.
US Secretary of State John Kerry and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov were also due to meet Tuesday on the sidelines of an Asian summit in Laos.
At last week’s talks in Moscow, the two countries agreed on “concrete steps” to revive the ceasefire and tackle extremist groups in Syria, although details have not been made public.
