Alexis Arquette, one of the famed Arquette acting family whose siblings include Academy Award-winner Patricia and Scream star David, has died at age 47, her brother Richmond confirmed this morning. Her brother, Richmond Arquette, announced the news in a Facebook post.

“He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loved ones”, the posting continued.

Richmond said that in Arquette’s final moments, David Bowie’s Starman was playing.

Patricia tweeted: “Breaking through the veil singing StarMan”, and added “To My first best friend – Cosmic Dancer (sic)”.

Alexis is best known for playing a brief but memorable role as the “Fourth Man” in “Pulp Fiction” and the Boy George-inspired character George in 1998 comedy “The Wedding Singer”.

She also made appearances on reality TV, including in VH1’s “The Surreal Life”.

Alexis was born Robert, but transitioned to a woman in 2006. Richmond also said that Alexis Arquette “was a force” and that she lived her life on her own terms and that she died that way as well.

Throughout the message, which was posted to his Facebook page, he often referred to Alexis Arquette using the male pronouns, although he did call her his sister, as well. I am immensely grateful that it was fast and painless. It was an incredible moving experience and I am humbled and grateful to have been able to have been with him as he began his journey onward. “RIP Alexis Arquette.” Barr included a photo of Arquette backstage at Barr’s talk show in 1999.

“Another bright light gone out far too soon”, George said.

It must have been heartbreaking for the Arquette family to watch their loved one pass on, but if it helped them all to have Alexis’ favorite music playing in the background, then we find that absolutely handsome. “Love to the family and all that loved Alexis”.
