Alexis Sanchez reassures Arsenal fans, ‘title hunt is not yet over!’

Following yesterday’s incredibly disappointing loss to a steaming pile of… something…in 11 Manchester United jerseys, questions are being asked of Arsene Wenger, and a certain line of them have to do with the slumping Alexis Sanchez.

Ozil and Sanchez’s contracts are set to expire in June 2018, but reports suggested the pair were nearing agreements to extend their stay at Emirates Stadium beyond that timeframe.

With a north London derby against Tottenham approaching at the weekend Arsenal must bounce back against Swansea, and Wenger is confident that he will have a strong squad available to him.

Cech said: “The defeat was a big disappointment for us and is a step back after last week where we managed to overcome a deficit against Leicester at home. I believe that he’s fighting to come back to his best”, Wenger said.

The Frenchman was the subject of the majority of the comments with supporters, pundits and former players disgruntled with their continued difficulty to take a hold of the Premier League title race. “We had a very, very bad week and it’s down to us to make this week a very good one”.

“I’ve never surprised by the criticism by the media”, he told reporters.

Therefore, despite his poor play and the pressure to succeed, it’s probably likely that we’ll keep seeing Alexis starting game in and game out in the hopes that his form will return eventually.

“I think people are a bit too emotional, and we want to put that into perspective and analyse things a bit more in a [productive] way”. After 20 years I’m used to it. It’s always a bit emotional and excessive. “We had two lapses of focus that we paid for”.
