More than 40 people were injured, one critically, Friday night after a railing collapsed at a Snoop Dogg concert in New Jersey, police said.
The collapse occurred as the rappers were gesturing to fans to come toward the small stage, officials said. According to reports, the show was cancelled shortly afterwards, and 42 people were taken to nearby hospitals, mostly with minor injuries.
As Fairfax reports, the USA rapper was performing at the BB&T Pavilion with fellow hip hop artist Wiz Khalifa when the partition separating the stage and crowd fell through, sending 42 punters crashing to the concrete floor.
Authorities said at the time that numerous injured concertgoers piled on top of each other during the fall, some even falling 10 feet onto a concrete walkway. The stage was only a few feet away from the collapsed railing.
Other injuries included broken bones, according to authorities. The people fell down into a gap between the audience and the stage, video posted on social media showed.
The concert was halted following the collapse and was later abandoned.

The amphitheater’s website still listed a concert scheduled for Saturday night featuring the rap group Salt-N-Pepa.
