All eyes on Boston on this draft night
With the final pick in the 2016 #NBADraft, we select Tyrone Wallace (PG – Cal) at #60.

The announcement of Jaylen Brown as the Celtics’ first draft selection prompted boos and heckles on the floor of the TD Garden Thursday night.
With the first two picks set in stone (6-foot-10 LSU freshman Ben Simmons to Philly, 6-9 Duke freshman Brandon Ingram to the Lakers), the talk of the National Basketball Association draft was: what would Boston do at No. 3? Positionally, he fits on Boston’s roster and his skill-set/body type naturally blend in with the modern game. He’s insane athletic and handles the ball much better than a typical player of his stature. The same may hold true for rugged 6-11, 254-pounder Ante Zizic, a 19-year-old from Croatia. Who do you think will make the next big move ahead of the 2016 NBA Draft?
“And being a fan means you’re emotional and you’re emotionally invested in the team”, Grousbeck said. Brown may turn into a perennial All-Star despite most analytical calculations spitting all over his game.
Every draft pick is a gamble. It then added former Notre Dame point guard Demetrius Jackson at No. 45, former Providence forward Ben Bentil at No. 51 and former Iowa State forward Abdel Nader at No. 58. It’s unclear whether Yabusele or Zizic will be overseas or in New England next season, either. “We had a lot of guys on the board, but who we thought at No. 25, who would be there, the main guy we wanted to be there was Brice and one other guy”.
There are not many who can. The search for a guaranteed upgrade continues. “I want to be a top five player in this league”.
Smart, Crowder, Bradley, Kelly Olynyk and Isaiah Thomas should all be better next season. Luckily for Simmons, his dad Dave, a professional player for Brown in Australia, developed him like a guard despite his size. James Young is a person. When the season ended, Beasley was named to the All-ACC Freshman team. They didn’t swing a deal, and all indications are that they never even got close to one that would have appreciably altered their fortunes in the coming season.
Brown, like Celtics picks of the past, is excited to be a part of Celtics lore. An impressive night for the first-year general manager.
Zizic said he hadn’t spoken to the Celtics about their plans for him yet. The sky won’t crumble if they also strike out on Al Horford, Chandler Parsons and Hassan Whiteside.
Boston seems to have reversed on their stance of pushing the needle forward on draft night whether on goal or by outcome, and it’s hard to swallow. I’ve been doing deals one way or another since I think 1986, 30 years, not sports deals necessarily, but just making agreements with people.
These are two hugely valuable assets! The Nets are bad!
It appears the first three picks in the draft are very likely set.
“Brown, a 6’7” forward from the University of California, was selected with the third overall pick in the first round.
They will have $50 million in cap space to attempt to attract an elite free agent or two. But if he isn’t the player Ainge envisions five or six years from now, the great Brooklyn trade may end up all for naught.
Yabsuele considers himself an energizer, and the Celtics already have one in Jonas Jerebko, who slid into a starting role in the playoffs. Teams are indicating that while they like Hammons’ talent, they question his motivation and work ethic and consequently see him as a risky prospect.
That transitions into the most important lesson the team should have learned at this draft. Stevens and Ainge are both committed for the foreseeable future; when winning multiple championships is the target, there’s no use in settling for modest improvement.

The 2016 draft didn’t go as well for Boston as it could have.
