All Fairfield Schools on Lockdown
All schools will be following the normal early closing schedule. They’ve since followed an early dismissal schedule.

Fairfield Schools have been changed to a “lockout mode” as a precautionary measure, according to officials.
Officials plan a 12:15 update next. Police started checking those schools, but all schools in town were locked down as the investigation continued, Perez said.
Dismissal information can be found here. All afternoon and evening activities were cancelled. “We’re calling in officers from surrounding areas to help us, not only lock down the schools, but so that we can search every school and dismiss or confirm the threats coming in”, Perez said. No one will be allowed to enter or leave any buildings.
The warnings came shortly after police responded to an unrelated distress call that turned out to be a hoax.
As police were dealing with that, threats were phoned in to three Fairfield schools. “We train for this, we prepare for this and immediately our emergency management team, our school superintendent, our fire chief, we all convened and took steps to secure our schools”.
A person at Fairfield Warde High School indicated around 9:50 a.m. that the school had been in lockdown for 20 to 25 minutes.
Fairfield Public Schools confirmed the threat at Fairfield Warde.
As a result, all schools were locked down.
One or two additional schools might have received threats as well, police said. A Fairfield Police officer just visited one of the classrooms on lockdown in Fairfield and told staff and students there is “no reason to fear”.
Police said they have set up a command center.
Gov. Dannel Malloy said his office has been in touch with Fairfield officials and state agencies and are ready to provide assistance if needed. He said he was receiving real-time updates.
McNamara said they were working to reunite parents with their children and investigate who made the anonymous threats. Parents who normally go into the school to sign out their children are asked to wait outside the schools. “It would lead us to believe that in a few form or fashion, they are in all likelihood connected”. However, police were apparently familiar with the suspect, due to him being accused of similar incidents in the recent past.
