Nidhi also said that New Delhi has confirmed Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s Nepal visit, which will be followed by President Bidya Bhandari’s India visit.

Wrapping up his official visit to India as Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s special envoy, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home affairs Bimalendra Nidhi returned home on Tuesday.
Guna Raj Luitel, editor of the Nepali daily Nagarik, said the prime minister’s visit to India, the traditional first stop for Nepali premiers, was a wise diplomatic move.
Khanal said that during the visit, scheduled for September 15-18, leaders will also hold discussions on road connectivity, industrial development and support for Nepal’s reconstruction efforts after a devastating quake previous year.

But Dahal’s election is unlikely to bring immediate political stability to Nepal, which is still reeling from the effects of the devastating quake in April 2015 and a bitter, ongoing fight over its new constitution. Madhesis, mostly Indian-origin, had launched a six-month-long agitation from September to February in which more than 50 people were killed.
