Syed Salahudeen, the chief of Hizbul Mujahideen – a Kashmiri separatist group that is designated a terrorist organisation by India, the European Union (EU) and the U.S., has threatened to wage a nuclear war against India over the Kashmir issue.
“The root cause of unrest in Kashmir is cross-border terrorism which is being encouraged by our neighbouring country”, the right-wing Hindu nationalist premier said. They also favoured to hold talks with all stakeholders. “The Conference spent considerable time on the grim situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir and Indian brutality after 8th July”, Aziz said in a statement issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Incitement to violence and terrorism across the border, parading of internationally recognised terrorists like Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahuddin, and honest follow up on the Mumbai attack trial and the Pathankot attack investigation in Pakistan”, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said.
“It has also been emphasized to our worldwide interlocutors that Indian security forces exercised extraordinary restraint, as evident in injury to over 3780 security personnel in mob attacks during violent protests in Jammu & Kashmir”.
While addressing an all-party meeting convened to discuss the prevailing situation in Kashmir, the Prime Minister said the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is an integral part of India. If India does not want to resolve Kashmir issue in Pakistan then United Nations is the best forum where Pakistan and India could resolve this dispute through dialogue.
“Like every Indian, I’m also deeply pained by the recent incidents that have taken place in Jammu & Kashmir, PM Modi said at the all party meeting”.
Numerous young men who came out onto the streets in the wake of Wani’s death threw stones at security forces, an increasingly common form of protest in India’s only Muslim-majority state. This is the first attempt made by the central government to start a dialogue process with the people of Kashmir.
